Guilford County Schools (GCS) will be offering free meals to children over the next few months. The program starts June 17 and runs through Aug. 15.

The school district will distribute meals at more than 20 locations including schools, as well as apartment complexes, community centers and parks throughout the county.

The GCS website has an interactive map that will allow families to find the sites closest to them.

All locations will provide lunch from 11 a.m. to noon, Monday through Thursday. Schools will also offer breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. on those days. Food won’t be distributed on June 19, or the first week of July when the district is closed.

Any student under the age of 18 can receive these free meals, but they are required to eat them on site.
