HanesBrands Inc. has announced plans to permanently close its High Point Distribution Center. The Winston-Salem-based apparel maker let state officials know that the planned closure of the distribution center on Eagle Hill Drive will take place in late January.

Earlier this year, HanesBrands sold its global Champion line of apparel to Authentic Brands Group for more than $1 billion.

In a notice to state officials this month, HanesBrands said the distribution center was focused on the Champion business. With the sale, the company no longer needs it.

The notice detailed the layoff of up to 75 positions.

Hanesbrands officials declined further comment.

In February, the company announced plans to lay off more than 150 workers at its distribution center on Annapolis Drive in Winston-Salem.

This week, Hanesbrands reported a third-quarter profit of $30 million.
