Historic Hamilton-Burr Duel At Center Of New Book

On July 11, 1804, Aaron Burr, the sitting vice president, shot one of the nation’s founding fathers in a duel. Burr and Alexander Hamilton had a longstanding personal dispute that ended in Hamilton’s death.

A new book by John Sedgwick called “War of Two“ retraces the root of the conflict, and uncovers a personal correspondence that Sedgwick’s ancestor had with Hamilton before the fateful day. Sedgwick spoke with Here & Now’s Meghna Chakrabarti on Radio Boston.
