Immigration Activists Respond, As Supreme Court Agrees To Review Executive Actions

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear arguments related to President Obama's executive actions on immigration.

In 2014, the president said he would shield from deportation as many as 4 million undocumented immigrants – specifically, some undocumented parents of American citizens, as well as some undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children.

Texas and 25 other states won injunctions in several federal courts, arguing the measures known as DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans) and DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) would create financial hardships for those states.

The Obama administration wants the Supreme Court to lift the injunctions so it can move forward. Armando Trull of Here & Now contributor WAMU has reaction from local activists
