Krispy Kreme is expanding its operations in Winston-Salem. On Tuesday the company announced 180 new jobs and an investment of $5.8 million over the next several years in order to support its Branded Sweet Treats line.
In a press release from Greater Winston-Salem, Inc. Krispy Kreme’s Global President and COO Josh Charlesworth says the company remains committed to the city where it was founded in 1937.
Mayor Allen Joines says that as an internationally recognized brand, the company’s decision to continue investing in Winston-Salem elevates the city’s profile and ability to attract future investment.
Both the city and Forsyth county have pledged economic support through performance-based incentives totaling over $250,000. The new production line will be based at Krispy Kreme’s Ivy Avenue facility in the city’s Northeast Ward.
