On Tuesday, President Obama will be presenting the Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, to 17 individuals. On the list is multiple Grammy-winning singer Gloria Estefan, who is cited for crossing over between English and Spanish language music, “paving the way for countless other Latin artists to follow.”
