Michigan's Antiquated Laws May Finally Be Repealed

Michigan’s state legislature has passed a set of bills to repeal more than 80 antiquated laws. The package will receive a “thorough overview” by Governor Rick Snyder, according to his office, but if he approves, Michiganers will finally be able to participate in events like 12-hour walk-a-thons and be free to make fun of someone who doesn’t accept a challenge to duel.

Michigan state representative Chris Afendoulis, a Republican representing Grand Rapids Township, led the effort to begin repealing antiquated laws. He speaks with Here & Now’s Indira Lakshmanan.
