A shooting in Winston-Salem on Tuesday left four people dead. According to a press release from the police department, officers responded to reports of a shooting on Brookhill Drive.
Police then found a 40-year-old woman who died from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police also found the bodies of her three children at the residence, also suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Winston-Salem police are investigating and say that there is no active threat to the community.
This is the 14th, 15th, and 16th homicide for 2023 compared to 14 at this time in 2022.
