North Carolina residents planning to vote in the March 3rd primary must register by 5 p.m. Friday.

Voters can register in person at their local board of elections or mail in a registration form. The form must be postmarked by Friday's deadline to qualify for the spring primary.

Residents can still register and vote on the same day during the state's early voting period, which runs from February 13-29.

Absentee ballots can be requested until February 25.

Voters will not be required to show photo ID for the March 3rd primary. A court order issued last December stopped the state's new mandate from taking effect.
