The Obama administration releases its new dietary guidelines today. The guidelines, which are updated every five years, are based on the latest medical information and science. The new guidelines call for Americans to cut their sugar intake to 10 percent of their daily calories, as well as lower their consumption of sodium. The new guidelines will now allow for some cholesterol, but make no recommendations for cutting back on meat.
