Coming January 2nd, there will be new programming on 88.5 WFDD.
We're adding these shows:
- 1A - 10am weekdays
- Only A Game - 7am Saturdays
- Reveal - 1pm Saturdays
Listen for these shows at new times:
- Fresh Air - weekdays at 7pm
- PRI's The World - weekdays at 3pm
- Radiolab - Saturdays at 10am
We kick off the week with the first broadcast of 1A. This new show hosted by Joshua Johnson was created by WAMU and NPR as a replacement for The Diane Rehm Show; it will air weekdays from 10am to noon. Also starting that Monday, you'll hear PRI's The World at 3pm and Fresh Air with Terry Gross at 7pm. Then on Saturday, catch Only A Game at 7am, Radiolab at 10am, and at 1pm, tune in for Reveal, public radio's first one-hour radio show and podcast dedicated to investigative reporting.
As we welcome the New Year, we will also bid farewell to two longtime public radio favorites: The Diane Rehm Show and Car Talk.
As you may know, Diane Rehm announced her retirement last year. She will host her last live program on Friday, December 23rd. NPR has announced that they will cease production of Car Talk next year. In response to many listener comments, we've decided to discontinue Car Talk by the end of this year. We're going to miss Car Talk, but we've heard from many listeners that said - although they love the show - it's time to move on.
We will miss these two beloved programs, but we look forward to new and interesting programs in the New Year!
