Novant Health has opened two new clinics in Rural Hall.

The new urology and weight-loss solutions clinics mark the second and third of Novant’s locations in Rural Hall. Across town is the health system’s family medicine facility.

Dr. Stan Fuller, system physician executive at the Novant Health Surgical Institute, says the organization is trying to reach people further away from city centers.

"One way we can do that is to meet them kind of where they are and so get the care to them you know, when and where they need it," Fuller said. "Certainly we have a large number of patients in that region that traditionally have had to come closer into town whether it’s Winston-Salem or Kernersville."

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in North Carolina about 45% of residents are obese.

Fuller also says Novant identified a need for treatment related to kidney stones, urological cancer types and urinary tract infections in the area.
