Every day, data about ourselves is being collected through our phones, our computers, our cars. But how is that data being used and who's using it?

That's the subject of the new PBS documentary, “The Human Face of Big Data.” It airs tonight at 10 p.m. Eastern on PBS stations around the country (check local listings).

Here & Now‘s Jeremy Hobson speaks with executive producer Rick Smolan and Shwetek Patel, a computer science and engineering professor at the University of Washington, who appears in the film.
