This year the festival will feature 175 selections from 33 different countries. Local films will be represented as well, including A Little Prayer, which was shot entirely in Winston-Salem and directed by Angus MacLachalan.

RiverRun Co-executive Director Mary Dossigner helped select the films. She’s been working with the festival for 18 of its 27 years.

"It’s so much fun, and I love being able to immerse our audiences in both things they know, local stories, local people, but things that they just can’t see anywhere else," Dossinger says. "And I think that’s what all film festivals, no matter where they are, really do for audiences.”

RiverRun takes place April 11-19, and festival passes are currently available online.
