An estimated 5 million Americans of all ages have Alzheimer's disease. For a child, understanding what's happening to the grandmother or grandfather they've known and loved can be overwhelming.

At a private school in Denver, seventh graders are learning more about the devastating disease in a months-long multi-disciplinary course that uses both an academic and hands-on approach. Jenny Brundin from Here & Now contributor Colorado Public Radio reports.
