Sense Of Place Asheville: Tyler Ramsey

Tyler Ramsey was World Cafe's guide to Asheville, N.C., during our Sense Of Place visit. Even when he wasn't showing us his favorite places in town, we'd sometimes meet him at breakfast or spot his lanky frame on the street.

Primarily a guitarist, Ramsey is a member of Band Of Horses, but launched his solo career with a self-titled release in 2005. His latest album, The Valley Wind, came out in 2011. We recorded him at Echo Mountain Studios, where he's working on his fourth record. Watch a video of "1000 Blackbirds" from this intimate session below.
