Small plane performs emergency landing on I-840 in Greensboro

A single-engine small plane experienced a mechanical failure and was forced to do an emergency landing on Interstate 840, also known as the Greensboro Urban Loop, Wednesday evening.
The plane landed on I-840 westbound at the I-73 juncture. According to the city and the Greensboro Police Department, a vehicle made contact with the plane once it was stationary. One of the two plane passengers was transferred to a hospital with minor injuries. The occupant of the vehicle was not injured.
The Greensboro Police Department is investigating the vehicle crash and the National Transportation Safety Board is looking into the cause of the airplane malfunction.
