Hundreds of musicians and folk artists will converge on downtown Greensboro next fall for the National Folk Festival. The National Council for the Traditional Arts selected Greensboro from 32 cities that applied to host the free, three-day event, which will feature music, dance and traditional arts.
The festival will be held in Greensboro from 2015 to 2017.
ArtsGreensboro, the National Council for the Traditional Arts and several community partners are working together to organize the event. WFDD's Keri Brown recently sat down with Tom Philion, Arts Greensboro President and CEO, to learn more about their plans.
Philion says the National Folk Festival is expected to debut in North Carolina in September 2015. He says around 1,000 community volunteers will be needed to make the event a success in Greensboro. For a link to more information, click here.
