New Still Life Exhibit Opens at The Reynolda House Museum of American Art
Coming up August 10–December 8, in the Mary and Charlie Babcock Wing Gallery, Reynolda House Museum of American Art presents "Things Wondrous & Humble: American Still Life". The exhibition features some of the finest examples of still life—both traditional and some unexpected approaches—from collections across North Carolina. It's a bountiful exploration of one of art's most popular genres, and how the everyday objects depicted within it continue to capture our imagination. David Ford spoke with Director of Public Programs Phil Archer.

The "Things Wondrous & Humble: American Still Life" Members' Exhibition Opening is Thursday, August 8th. It'll be a summer party at Reynolda celebrating the beauty and splendor of still life with live entertainment and the debut of the exhibition before it opens to the public. And coming up on Sunday, August 18th at 3 p.m. the Carolina Summer Music Festival presents "A Bouquet of Music"—a chamber recital featuring music inspired by nature and flowers, and all "Things Wondrous & Humble” including Kenneth Frazelle's piano work "Wildflowers" performed by Ivan Seng.
