Voter Turnout Steady in Forsyth & Guilford Counties

May 6, 2014 is primary election day, and North Carolina voters are choosing their parties' candidates for a competitive U.S. Senate seat, the state Supreme Court and dozens of other state and federal offices. 

Board of Elections officials in both Forsyth and Guilford County say voter turnout has been steady through Tuesday morning and early afternoon.

Eight Republicans are seeking the GOP nomination to challenge Democratic Senator Kay Hagan. She has her own primary against two lesser-known opponents. The Libertarians also are choosing a Senate nominee.

Several local races are also getting a lot of attention, including the County Commissioner and Sheriff's race in Forsyth County. WFDD's Keri Brown visited several polling precincts in Forsyth County to find out what issues are driving people to the polls.
