For Sentimental Reasons is the Greensboro Symphony's answer to the annual dilemma what to do for Valentine's Day. This year they've invited New York's hottest jazz guitarist, John Pizzarelli, and his wife, singer and Broadway actress Jessica Molaskey, to join the orchestra in a unique evening of American classics and songs from the Broadway stage. John Pizzarelli spoke with David Ford by phone from his home in New York. We spoke about his new album Double Exposure where he takes 13 classic pop tunes, and adds his own unique jazz arrangement. I began bay asking about the Beatles tune I Feel Fine which John double exposed with the classic Lee Morgan “Sidewinder” groove.
Guitarist, vocalist, and co-host of Radio Deluxe, John Pizzarelli. This Valentine's Day, Friday, February 14th, he'll join his wife, singer, Broadway actress and Radio Deluxe co-host Jessica Molaskey in an evening of American classics, torch songs, jazz standards and songs from the Broadway stage. Their back-up band: The Greensboro Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Nathaniel Beversluis. For Sentimental Reasons is in Westover Church February 14, at 8:00pm.
