The Art of Body Painting: Meet Artist Cheryl Ann Lipstreu

Cheryl Ann Lipstreu grew up on an Arabian horse farm in Belews Creek, North Carolina. At age 10 she fell in love with oil painting and art making, and she went on to receive art degrees from Guilford Technical Community College, Pennsylvania College of Art and Design and the Fine Arts League of the Carolinas in Asheville NC.

Two years ago, after modeling for Triple Crown World Champion Body painters Scott Fray and Madelyn Greco, Cheryl Ann embraced the art form herself. She began developing her own signature body painting style, and eventually winning competitions herself. She was the Grand Prize for Emerging Artists winner at the International Body Painting Competition, and the following year she won second prize at the North American Professional Body Painting Championships.

She's also a local Winston-Salem artist with Arts for Arts Sake group and has a studio on Trade Street downtown. She's available for individual bookings and events, and she's currently busily raising funds to attend this year's International Body Painting Competition in Austria.
