Greensboro is very close to getting a new police chief. The search for the top cop has been narrowed to two finalists.
The city announced Monday that they were looking at Danielle Outlaw, a deputy chief for the City of Oakland and Wayne Scott, a deputy chief in the Greensboro Police Department.
The city's search for a replacement for previous chief Ken Miller started in November shortly after Miller left for a job in Greenville, SC. Their initial search yielded 44 candidates.
The most recent and final portion of the process included the two finalists meeting with Greensboro police officers and with a group of community, faith, and business leaders. They also had one-on-one interviews with the City Manager.
The new police chief is expected to be announced later this week.
