In honor of Black History Month, Stained Glass Playhouse presents Clybourne Park by Bruce Norris. The play was written as a spin-off to Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun—the first play written by an African American woman to be produced on Broadway. Hansberry's parents bought a house in Chicago's white Woodlawn neighborhood. That purchase led to the legal case Hansberry v. Lee.
Their production of Clybourne Park directed by Alvin R. Tyndall runs from February 6th through the 22nd with evening shows at 8:00 PM and Sunday matinees at 3:00 PM at the Stained Glass Playhouse in Winston-Salem.
Stained Glass Playhouse actors Greg Volgelsmeir, Sara E. Butner, Krishma Steele, Jack Holbrook, Hayden Crawford, Kady Ann Tilley and Mat Tabat came to WFDD's studios. In today's show, the cast reads from Clybourne Park.
