Greensboro is looking to increase the interaction between its police department and citizens. A series of conversations put together by the city for February should improve the dialogue on community and police issues.

The city plans to partner with community groups to host and facilitate these gatherings. Greensboro has been working to schedule the meetings over the last several weeks. The conversations are expected to start in February.

Mayor Nancy Vaughan, inspired by nationwide programs like the #startswithtrust campaign and #blacklivesmatter movement, said this a good time for the increased communication.

Vaughan said that she wanted city leaders to take time to shed light on these interactions. She added that she hopes this series will build trust and resolve fears.
