Greensboro native, and award-winning artist Les Caison III began drawing at age 1 and a half, and he later competed among his friends drawing hot rods, Ninjas, and All Star wrestlers, during their long bus rides to and from Peeler Elementary.

Their fellow passengers voted on the best works, and erasers and the occasional quarter were awarded as prizes. Today, Les III has a solo exhibition on display at The Turchin Center for Visual Arts in Boone. His latest body of 15 works is titled “Looking Up”. 

His solo exhibition will remain on display at the Turchin Center for Visual Arts in Boone through March 21stThe Greensboro native and App State graduate is also an Associate Member of Delurk Gallery in Winston-Salem, and the Randolph Arts Guild Program Director.

Les III enjoys combining multi-layered oil painting with graphite illustration to create thought-provoking scenes of everyday life. Today he shares a bit about his artistic process.
