UNCG Forum Will Examine Culture and Climate On Campus

A public forum is being held Tuesday on the campus of UNC Greensboro to discuss the climate and culture at the university.

It comes amid controversy after felony charges were filed, then dropped, against three former employees.

Chancellor Linda Brady announced the forum last week. Brady has faced a backlash on campus after three employees were fired and faced 22 felony charges amid allegations that they used university resources for their private freelance photography business.

Last month, all charges were dropped. A Guilford County judge ordered two of the three former employees to pay restitution and perform community service.

The employees are now working through a grievance process, arguing that they were improperly terminated.

Brady has stood by the handling of the case. Also last month, Brady announced that she will retire at the end of July.

The firings led to petitions, outrage on social media, and a silent vigil in front of the Elliott University Center, where today's forum will be held from 4 to 6 p.m.
