A Belgian furniture maker announced plans Wednesday to locate its new U.S. headquarters in High Point.

The move by BuzziSpace Inc. will mean an estimated 113 new jobs. The company has been looking for a location for about 18 months. BuzziSpace CEO Tom Van Dessel says High Point's furniture heritage was one of the main draws. The company also considered two other areas known for furniture manufacturing - Michigan and southern Indiana - before picking High Point.

Gov. Pat McCrory was on hand for the announcement and says the move points toward a resurgence of the furniture industry in North Carolina. But he says a new generation of furniture workers will need to be trained to meet the demand.

BuzziSpace plans to renovate the Pickett Cotton Mill to serve as its new offices. The mill building dates back more than 100 years. The company plans to open its High Point headquarters in September.
