High Point University's School of Art and Design will be celebrating the spirit of art in all its forms during this academic Year of the Arts (YOTA). The eight-month series is led by the school's Dean, Dr. John Turpin. YOTA will feature dozens of events demonstrating the myriad ways in which art and creativity enrich our lives. John says the focus will be on four main questions.
Answers to those million dollar questions may be found on Friday night, September 26th at 7 in High Point's Pauline Theater on the High Point University campus. There the Year of the Arts speaker series will continue with Dutch artist Theo Jansen discussing his strandbeests of PVC pipe and textiles. The Reader Series features outstanding author Tarashea Nesbitt on October 1st followed by North America's foremost emerging wind quintet Windsync in concert October 2 at 7:30 pm. The events are free and open to the public.
