One of our nation's oldest community bands is set to perform another free public concert this week. The Salem Band formed back in 1771 performs outdoors in the beautiful, shaded confines of Salem Square. They're led by Music Director, and Winston-Salem Symphony Bass Clarinetist, Eileen Young. On Friday she'll be joined by longtime respected Triad band leader and educator Charles Murph, and guest soloist Winston-Salem and Greensboro Symphony principal trumpeter Anita Cirba

On Tuesday night, August 5th at 7:30 PM, she'll join the Salem Band and Salem Band Director Eileen Young in a performance of “Carnival of Venice”. Then guest director Charles Murph will lead the “Trumpeter's Lullaby”. The performance takes place in Salem Square. As with all Salem Band performances, the concert is free and open to the public. Rain date is August 19th
