The suspect, Tedrick McClary of Wilmington, was already wanted on federal drug and firearms charges and has evaded authorities for several years. The arrest comes after a detective from the Greensboro Police Department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team launched a monthlong intensive search across North Carolina, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

The shooting took place in May. According to police reports, 34-year-old Sherrod Crum was struck by at least one bullet fired from a sedan that drove past him outside of the Four Seasons Town Centre. He was later pronounced dead at Moses Cone Hospital.

McClary was arrested in Pennsylvania and is now being held in New Hanover County without bond. He has been charged with first-degree murder. A motive has not yet been determined for the crime, and the investigation is ongoing.
