The Triad's congressional districts look nothing like they did just two years ago. But despite the changes, Republicans were able to easily win all the seats that they held.
In the 5th District, Virginia Foxx defeated Democrat David Wilson Brown. In the 10th District, Patrick McHenry defeated David Parker, and in the 13th Ted Budd defeated Scott Huffman.
Court-ordered redistricting effectively moved the three districts into more urban areas surrounding urban Guilford and Forsyth counties.
None of the races were close, with all three candidates earning more than 60 percent of the vote.
Democrats did pick up a seat in the newly drawn 6th District, where Kathy Manning prevailed for a seat that now represents Greensboro and most of High Point and Winston-Salem.
The results are unofficial until certified by the State Board of Elections.
