Wake Forest University’s Sabin Center for Environment and Sustainability is days away from hosting its inaugural Advancing Stewardship conference.
Subtitled “Innovative Approaches for a Thriving Planet”, the Sabin Center’s conference is seeking solutions to some of the planet’s most urgent environmental crises.
That’s according to the center’s executive director, Stan Meiburg.
He says the conference, which will run from Oct. 9 to 11, will encourage attendees to take a multifaceted outlook on conservation.
"It’s about innovative approaches for a thriving planet and particularly focuses on how you can look at the intersection of conservation, enterprise and justice all in one place," Meiburg says.
The conference will feature Elizabeth Kolbert, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author with years of experience covering climate change, public health and economic development.
Among other notable speakers is Acting Deputy Secretary of the Interior, Laura Daniel-Davis.
The conference is free to attend. Those interested can register online by visiting the Sabin Center’s website.
*Correction: A previously broadcast version of this story identified Laura Daniel-Davis as Laurel.
