In early December, Wake Forest University received a whopping $30 million donation for its Center for Entrepreneurship.

It’s one of the most significant gifts in Wake Forest’s nearly 200-year history and sets the center up to radically improve the quality of education for entrepreneurial students.

That’s according to Dan Cohen, executive director of the Center for Entrepreneurship. He says the money, which was gifted by an anonymous donor, will go toward improving every aspect of the program from course offerings to class size.

The money will also aid students in reaching their end goal of successfully developing and pitching business ideas through programs like Deacon Springboard and Startup Lab.

"There’s been an unbelievable positive reaction to this gift," Cohen said. "I think the overriding sentiment is that people are super pumped and excited, both internally with our faculty and staff, but also amongst our students and parents and alums alike."

Cohen explained the donation is an endowed gift, meaning most of it will be invested for future growth.
