WFDD won in the following categories:

“It is exhilarating to be recognized among our colleagues for our work at WFDD. Our reporters have offered critical coverage over the past year, whether it was breaking news events, navigating the pandemic, or shining a spotlight on stories that would otherwise go untold,” says News Director Emily McCord. “We are very grateful for this honor.”

Stations compete against others with similar-sized newsrooms.  Overall, judges reviewed over 1500 entries. WFDD competes in the Division A category representing organizations with 8-15 news staff members. PMJA, formerly PRNDI, supports, empowers, and advocates for journalists working in public media.
