In a matter of days, Syria has been changed forever. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has fled the country, ending five decades of dynastic authoritarian rule.  

Rebels, led by the Islamist militant group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), are now in charge of Damascus. But as people rejoice across Syria – what’s left is immense uncertainty about the future of the country’s government and its place in the region.

We look to the future for both Syria, and the Middle East.
