Winning Latino Hearts And Minds In Milwaukee

In the 2012 presidential election, Mitt Romney won 27 percent of the Hispanic vote. Postmortem studies by the GOP concluded that Republicans would need to make major inroads with Hispanics in order to take the White House.

Enter the Libre Initiative, a national conservative group backed by billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch. Set on spreading a message of economic freedom and less government, the group has already set up offices in several battleground states. Milwaukee is next in line, as the Libre Initiative is opening a field office there, where much of Wisconsin's Latino population is concentrated.

As Marti Mikkelson from Here & Now contributor WUWM reports, the Libre Initiative may find itself locked in a bitter competition for votes in the city.
