Winston-Salem and Forsyth County law enforcement leaders to hold 'Trust Talk' on police violence

Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough and Winston-Salem Police Chief William Penn Jr. will hold a public forum next week to discuss how law enforcement and the community can work together to combat police brutality. 

The discussion comes in the wake of the death of Tyre Nicols at the hands of Memphis police officers early last month. Six officers have been fired and five are facing second-degree murder charges in connection.

The forum is co-sponsored by the city’s Human Relations Department and Leadership Winston-Salem. 

The forum will be held Tuesday, February 21, on the campus of Forsyth Technical Community College. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged.
