Winston-Salem police say people who know anything about a rash of shootings over the weekend need to tell police what they know to help stop the violence.
It was a brutal weekend in Winston-Salem — three people killed in homicides that also left four others wounded.
Police say they see some connections between two Friday night shootings, but at this point can't say if they are related. One of the shootings was outside of Skyline Village apartments, while the other was about two miles away on East Devonshire Street.
A shooting Saturday left one person dead in the Easton community where a house party with more than 100 guests was taking place. Lt. Gregory Dorn says he's frustrated that none of them have come forward with information.
“We've got to work together to make Winston safer again,” he says. “We can do it. We spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to try to help the community. Now we need your help. I plea for that. We can't solve these crimes without your help.”
Dorn says the last time there were three shootings on the same weekend in Winston-Salem was Christmastime in 2020.
