Wisconsin Gun Store Found Liable for Straw Buyer Sale

Two recent high-profile cases in Wisconsin and Michigan are playing into the larger national debate on gun control.

In Milwaukee, a jury awarded $5 million in damages to two police officers Tuesday in a civil suit brought against a local gun shop that sold to a straw buyer in 2009, after the gun sold was used in an attack that severely wounded both policemen.

And in Auburn Hills, Michigan, prosecutors charged a woman with a misdemeanor for firing her gun at a shoplifter’s getaway car in the parking lot of a Home Depot.
