Authorization for Use of Military Force

After the ambush in Niger that left four U.S. Army soldiers dead, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will hold a hearing Monday to consider the authorization of U.S. military force overseas.

The new Authorization for the Use of Military Force, or AUMF as it's known, bans the use of U.S. forces "in enduring offensive ground combat operations."
