Congress to investigate Carnival Cruise Line for its response to the coronavirus pandemic. Dozens of passengers died and hundreds of others were sickened while at least nine ships remained at sea.

At least 21 people are showing symptoms of COVID-19 after traveling on the same ship as a passenger who died from the respiratory disease this week. The ship is now returning from Hawaii.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a woman from quarantine at Lackland Air Force Base over the weekend; she was later found to be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19.

Many of the new cases are linked to a Christian sect in the city of Daegu. A woman who attended services there is listed as having more than 1,000 contacts.

A total of 621 people from the cruise ship have now been confirmed to have COVID-19 — or about 20% of the 3,011 people who had been tested for the coronavirus disease as of Wednesday.
