Forsyth County Soil and Water Conservation District

Forsyth County Soil and Water Board Member Edward Jones was arrested Monday on charges related to election fraud and sex offender registry violations.

According to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations Sex Offender Registry, Edward Jones was convicted of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old in 2001, when he was 31. 

The nonpartisan position is one of five on the county’s Board of Supervisors, which is tasked with preserving the district’s natural resources. At monthly meetings, they discuss issues including water quality and soil erosion.
