The Illinois Lottery said the $1.337 million prize for the July 29 drawing was claimed by two people who wish to remain anonymous. They chose a lump sum payment of $780.5 million.

The winning lottery ticket in the recent Mega Millions jackpot is worth $1.337 billion, but because of an Illinois law, the identity of who bought it might never be revealed. In most states, anonymity isn't an option.

Most states do not currently grant anonymity to lottery winners. Some lawmakers have tried to change that in recent years out of growing privacy and safety concerns.

On Wednesday the South Carolina Education Lottery announced it will not be delivering more than $30 million in prizes to players with winning tickets printed as a result of a computer glitch.

The state lottery commission ruled it will not pay out more than $30 million to people who bought tickets "printed in error." Gamblers will only be reimbursed $1 for each ticket.
