The video game's new feature takes players back in time to experience Martin Luther King Jr.'s iconic 1963 speech. But some people worry it sends the wrong message about the civil rights leader.

Without money from the Delta Air Lines Foundation, Atlanta's Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park would have been closed for the King holiday, a National Park Service spokesman told NPR.

The 1968 Poor People's Campaign lasted 42 days. The new campaign vows 40 days of nonviolent direct action to focus on issues that activists say are linked to poverty, including systemic racism.

Martin Luther King Jr. chose Marks as a starting point for the economic justice fight because of the entrenched poverty he saw there. Today, poverty remains a challenge in Marks.

Four days after her husband was killed, Coretta Scott King led a march in Memphis. The act reflected her role as a partner in the struggle for civil rights. "I was impelled to come," she said.

They wanted better working conditions and higher pay, but they needed help strategizing. Martin Luther King Jr. went to Memphis to help.

Some 1,300 black men from the Memphis Department of Public Works went on strike 50 years ago to protest poor working conditions. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke about them a day before his assassination.
