North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the case, and the two officers involved have been placed on administrative duty.

Town officials say officers repeatedly charged a nonprofit to provide security at events, and then pocketed the money. 

A release issued by the town Tuesday said Chief of Police Robbie Jackson had been placed on leave with pay “as the town investigates the Pilot Mountain Police Department.” 

State law enforcement officials are looking into the death of an inmate earlier this month at the Guilford County Jail in Greensboro.
