The dispute on the plane at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport immediately drew criticism from Koreans. It also inspired a nickname that stuck: "Nut Rage."

A week after she was arrested over a tantrum on a tarmac in New York, Cho Hyun-ah faces charges of interfering with the inquiry into what officials say was a breach of aviation laws.

Cho Hyun-ah's conduct aboard an aircraft over a packet of improperly served macadamia nuts led to her resignation. She was arrested today for violating South Korea's aviation safety laws.
