Trains derail in Arizona and Washington, with oil spilled on Puget Sound tribal land

The derailment in Washington state occurred on a berm along Padilla Bay, on the Swinomish tribal reservation near Anacortes. Most of 5,000 gallons of spilled diesel fuel leaked on the land.

The gray whale known as Dubknuck has been coming to Puget Sound since 1991. Scientists believe a small pod of these whales has survived several die off events by developing a new feeding strategy.

This group of gray whales seems to have figured out a new feeding strategy. To fatten up as they migrate from Baja to the Arctic, they take a detour to Puget Sound.
