A massive proposed expansion to the Transcontinental Gas Pipeline, which runs through parts of the Piedmont, has caught the attention of 14 North Carolina General Assembly members.
The natural gas giant, Williams Companies, has submitted a project application to build 24 miles of new pipeline through the Piedmont. The expansion would run through homes, businesses, schools and churches.
The pipeline expansion poses risks to the environment and public health. Concerned residents have until Tuesday, Dec. 3 to intervene in the application process.
