The Boy Scouts of America announced that starting next year, it will welcome girls into some of its programs. At least one Scout believes that welcoming girls is friendly, courteous and kind.

The Boy Scouts of America says that girls can join its Cub Scout program beginning next year and that it hopes to have a program in place for older girls in 2019.

While no decision has been made, the Boy Scouts have been considering welcoming girls in an unspecified capacity, a spokeswoman tells NPR.

The Boy Scouts were attending a camp on the shores of Lake O' The Pines in east Texas when a Hobie Cat they were aboard snagged an overhanging transmission cable.

"Girls have expressed a ton of interest and have been very vocal about their desire to do more STEM," a Girl Scouts regional representative says.

The president seemed to be in campaign mode in a stop in West Virginia on Monday, mixing politics, insults and saltiness. The problem is he was doing it in front of adolescent boys in the Boy Scouts.
